The Dave Logue Classic

A Country Kiwi Classic

The Dave Logue Cycle Classic circuit consists of 114km of undulating, challenging but beautiful scenery with the race commencing and finishing in Taumarunui.  The ride takes you around what is termed locally as ‘The Ohura Circuit’ with the first 25km on SH4 after which you turn off to fast smooth country roads where, on a busy day, you may encounter 10 cars.  Competitors can enter as an individual, two person or three person team.

Dave Logue 2015

The Dave Logue Cycle Classic has developed into a great warm up event for the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. There has been a growing group of cyclists who ride from Auckland to participate at the Dave Logue Classic and then cycle on to the Taupo event before returning home….see the following comments by that group. Jeremy Burfoot: “Last year 40 people rode the Taupo Cycle Challenge for Melanoma New Zealand. The idea being to raise the profile of the foundation and for individual members to raise funds through ‘fundraising online’ pages. We organised a very cool sponsored MNZ cycling jersey which riders got to keep.
You can ride the solo, in teams of 4 or 2 or in the mountain bike race. This year’s event is on the 28th November. On the 14th of November we are also keen to enter a team in the Dave Logue Classic which is an event starting in Taumaranui that supports Melanoma New Zealand.
Come join us. Our aim this year is to get at least 50 members riding and fundraising.
Join the group and email jeremy at burfoot@xtra.co.nz so I can record all your info.”
